How it works
From a conversation with your client to documents in safe storage.
Three ways to refer
Complete the fact find online
Use the PartnerDesk fact find during or after your conversation with the client. Complete what you know; you do not need to fill every box before referring.
Upload a completed fact find
If you have already completed the paper or PDF version of the fact find, upload it with the client's contact details.
Share the client's details
If Birchwood Legal is meeting the client and taking the lead, just share the client's details. Birchwood Legal completes the fact find, and you are still kept updated.
The customer journey
- 01
Partner firm
Identify the need
During a routine appointment, you identify an estate planning need, such as Wills or LPAs. With the client's permission, you refer them.
- 02
Partner firm
Send the referral
The referral is sent securely through PartnerDesk. You record the client's circumstances and wishes in their own words, not recommendations.
- 03
Birchwood Legal
Prepare recommendations
Birchwood Legal reviews the information and creates a tailored estate planning report (EPR).
- 04
Birchwood Legal and partner
Share the report
The report is sent directly to the client and copied to you.
- 05
Client
Confirm and instruct
The client, or you on their behalf, confirms they would like to proceed. Birchwood Legal then sends the Letter of Engagement and Terms of Business for electronic signature, with you copied in.
- 06
Birchwood Legal
Draft and complete
Birchwood Legal invoices and issues drafts for approval. Once payment is received and drafts are approved, the originals are posted to you.
- 07
Partner firm and Birchwood Legal
Attest, check and store
You hold the signing meeting and return the signed originals. Birchwood Legal checks them, places them in safe storage and sends certified copies and storage certificates.
Always kept updated
Each referral shows its current step and a traffic light against the target time for that step. Birchwood Legal posts updates and messages to the case, and you are notified in the portal and by email. A compliance log records every message, document, decision and access with the date and time.
